## Overview

Montgomery is divided into 9 city council districts, each represented by an elected council member. The Civic Hub provides a toggleable district boundary overlay on every portal's map.

## How to Use

1. On any portal's **Map** tab, find the **"Show Districts"** button
2. Click to toggle the district overlay on or off
3. Click on any district polygon to see council member details
4. Click **"Hide Districts"** to remove the overlay

The AI can also toggle districts for you — ask "show me the council districts" in chat.

## District Colors

Each district is assigned a consistent color for easy identification:

| District   | Color  |
| ---------- | ------ |
| District 1 | Blue   |
| District 2 | Red    |
| District 3 | Green  |
| District 4 | Amber  |
| District 5 | Violet |
| District 6 | Pink   |
| District 7 | Teal   |
| District 8 | Orange |
| District 9 | Indigo |

## Popup Details

Clicking on a district polygon shows:

* **District number** and name
* **Council member name**
* **Phone number**
* **Email address**

## Data Source

District boundaries are sourced from Montgomery's ArcGIS Council Districts layer. The data is loaded lazily — only fetched when you first toggle the overlay on, then cached for the session.
